“My first stock market simulation that I participated in was during my 6th grade year of Middle School. This was in 2008, right during the financial crisis. This was an interesting time to start learning about the market to say the least. I then was reintroduced to the stock market during my freshman year of high school. I absolutely fell in love with the game all over again. At this point in my life, I did not know exactly what I wanted to do with my life in regards to a career. After I started playing the stock market game, I was hooked. I figured out pretty early on that Finance would be my career path and that is currently my major now. I learned so much during the stock market game, more than any class had ever taught me. The stock market game is a great way to teach kids about the market as it throws them right into the thick of it, and I am a true believer that there is no better way to learn than by doing. Playing in a stock market simulation teaches you so much about how markets work and give you a great introduction to the markets and can set students up for great careers in finance. I can say, without a doubt, that I would not be where I am right now without the supplemental education during my high school years of a stock market simulation.”
